STIAL Project Announces Launch of New STIAL Transition Portal for Students with Disabilities
The STIAL Project (Supported Transition Planning Including all Learners -STIAL) is proud to announce the launch of a new online resource, the STIAL Transition Portal. This innovative portal is designed to facilitate seamless transitions for young people with disabilities from compulsory education into Further/Higher Education, Training, and the workforce.
The STIAL Transition Portal went live on 13 May 2024, offering a comprehensive suite of resources tailored to meet the unique needs of students, parents and educational professionals. The portal provides tools and guidance to support students with disabilities in navigating the challenges associated with moving beyond secondary education.
Key features of the STIAL Transition Portal include:
- Educational Resources: Curriculum guides, educational planning tools and training modules for students and educators.
- Parental Guidance: Resources to assist parents in supporting their children’s educational and career aspirations.
- Professional Development: Materials and professional development opportunities for teachers and school staff to better assist students with disabilities.
Professor Geraldine Scanlon, head of the STIAL Project, stated, “The STIAL Transition Portal is more than just a resource; it is a community initiative that empowers students with disabilities to achieve their fullest potential. Our goal is to ensure that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed in higher education and beyond.”
The portal is accessible to all and aims to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with disabilities by providing them with the necessary resources to succeed. For more information, visit the STIAL Transition Portal at https://www.STIAL.ie
